Background:

We have seen more construction and renovation in downtown neighborhoods then ever before. More often than not when an old home becomes a tear down, new construction means the removal of precious trees. Unfortunately, builders and developers often see large old trees as obstacles and not assets for value.

Rapidly trees aged 100+ years are being removed to make room for homes larger than intended lot sizes. This drastically shrinks green space and tree shade cover in our neighborhoods. We must actively consider how  landscape affects the health of its occupants.  

  

The name First Oath is taken from Druidism ceremonial acts of giving an object or person a spiritual name. Trees where worshiped by the Druids and played a vital role in all aspects of their lives. Calendar weeks were named after tree's and given a symbol. Each weekly upload will follow this calendar system Performances consist of a witness and the naming shaman.
